Deal protection on RMT
Every purchase on RMT goes through escrow: you pay the platform, not the seller. The money stays frozen until the order is done, and only then goes to the seller.
What RMT does
- The seller is not paid before the order is done: in an ordinary deal after you confirm it, in a quick top-up (Steam, for example) after delivery.
- While the seller has not started the transfer you can cancel the deal, and the payment returns to your RMT balance.
- If the seller does not fulfil the order or the goods do not match the description, open a dispute in the deal and attach the conversation and screenshots. Support joins the deal's chat, studies the history and decides who gets the money; if the order was not fulfilled, the payment returns to your RMT balance.
- If you do not confirm a deal in the time set, the platform may complete it automatically under its internal rules (see the Terms of use).
What the protection does not cover
- Deals and payments outside the platform: a chat in a messenger, a transfer to a seller's card or wallet.
- Penalties of a game's publisher for breaking the rules of the game.
- Cases where you gave the seller your password or an SMS code at their request.
- RMT is not a party to the deal and does not guarantee its outcome (see the Terms of use): the protection is the holding of the payment and the settling of a dispute.
How not to lose the protection
- Talk and pay only inside the deal on RMT.
- Confirm receipt only after you have checked what you got: after you confirm, a dispute can no longer be opened.
- Never give your password, an SMS code or card details to a seller, or to «support» in a messenger.
